Media Notes

In N.Y., Andrew Marchand notes Fox and NFL Network are teaming up for NFL Draft coverage next month, and Troy Aikman "may join the draft coverage." A source said that it was "50-50, at this point." A source also said that Fox is "pushing its lead college analyst, Joel Klatt, to be part of NFL Network’s coverage" (N.Y. POST, 3/6).

OPENING IN THE BIG EASY: In New Orleans, Jeff Duncan wrote the Saints' "soaring Q Rating" should make their open radio play-by-play announcer role "more attractive than ever." Longtime announcer Jim Henderson retired last month. Historically, the position has been "manned by someone with a local connection, and there are several quality candidates in the market, among them, Kristian Garic, Todd Graffagnini, Mike Hoss, Sean Kelley and Joel Meyers." But the position is "bound to attract national interest" (New Orleans TIMES-PICAYUNE, 3/5).

RECRUITING PROCESS: SI.com's Richard Deitsch cited sources as saying that ESPN "has an interest" in former NBAer Chris Bosh for a broadcasting position "should he opt for broadcasting as opposed to a basketball comeback" (SI.com, 3/4).

RUSSIAN REALITY: The HOLLYWOOD REPORTER's Scott Roxborough noted HBO Latin America and HBO Europe yesterday "unveiled their first-ever co-production, joining forces" for "Destino Russia 2018," a 10-part docuseries on this summer's FIFA World Cup. The series is "billed as 'an intimate and personal look' at top international soccer players as they prepare for this year's World Cup" (HOLLYWOODREPORTER.com, 3/5).
