Media Notes

SI.com's Richard Deitsch noted the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday on TBS is "scheduled for two hours and will air from Turner Studios in Atlanta." Greg Gumbel and Ernie Johnson will "host the show, along with analysts" Clark Kellogg, Charles Barkley, Seth Davis and Kenny Smith. The show will also "stream on March Madness Live." A source said that "all 68 teams and full brackets are expected to be unveiled over the first half of the show." This would "be wise" as such a move will "afford TBS viewer goodwill in what is sure to be the least-watched 'Selection Show' ever" (SI.com, 3/4).

FIGHT FOR THE FUTURE: YAHOO SPORTS' Kevin Iole wrote PPV sales for UFC 222 this past weekend will "undoubtedly be modest," but this "wasn't, though, another lost Saturday for the UFC." Three fighters who "figure to play a major role in the company's future -- featherweight Brian Ortega, bantamweight Sean O'Malley and women's strawweight Mackenzie Dern -- delivered in a major way, highlighting the promotion's better-than-ever depth." The UFC roster currently has "more quality fighters than ever before, even if many of them are far from household names." Its roster of young fighters shows a "depth the UFC has never had before" (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 3/4).

PAR FOR THE COURSE: In Tampa, Tom Jones writes the "best coverage of the weekend goes to NBC" for the WGC-Mexico Championship, including "outstanding replay work as Phil Mickelson beat Justin Thomas in a playoff" (TAMPA BAY TIMES, 3/5).
