WEEI's Michael Holley Leaving For Full-Time Role At NBC Sports Boston

WEEI-FM afternoon host Michael Holley is leaving his program with Dale Arnold and Rich Keefe to "join NBC Sports Boston full time," according to Chad Finn of the BOSTON GLOBE. His final show was yesterday. Holley, already a co-host of NBC Sports Boston's weekday evening program "Boston Sports Tonight," will "take on an expanded role." Holley's departure from WEEI is "not related to recent controversy and contentiousness at the station." Meanwhile, Michael Felger, an afternoon drive host at WEEI's rival WBZ-FM, will "no longer be full time at NBC Sports Boston, though he will retain a prominent on-air presence." Felger in January "signed a contract extension" with WBZ parent company Beasley Media Group. A source said that Beasley "made it worth Felger's while financially to reduce his NBCSN obligations." Additionally, Kayce Smith is "leaving NBC Sports Boston for Barstool Sports." Her final day is tomorrow. Smith joined NBC Sports Boston in March '17 as a "co-host, along with Holley, Tom Curran, and Tom Giles, of the 'Boston Sports Tonight' talk show" (BOSTON GLOBE, 3/1). Entercom Boston Senior VP & Market Manager Mark Hannon in a statement said that Holley "chose not to renew his contract with the station and that WEEI offered Holley a multi-year extension." Arnold "pre-empted any rumors of discord on the show by making it clear that Holley left the program on good terms" (MASSLIVE.com, 2/28).
