Ticketmaster Reports Record Q4, Bullish On NFL Digital Ticketing

Ticketmaster in the fourth quarter of ’17 posted its highest-performing quarter in its history, selling more than 50 million tickets and generating more than $4.5B in gross transaction value. The figures, part of Live Nation’s quarterly earnings report released late yesterday, were driven heavily by the company’s concert business. The company was bullish in its overall ticketing outlook for ’18, and pointed to the forthcoming rollout of digital ticketing with the NFL as a major corporate initiative. “We’ll go into some of the NFL in the fall (with digital ticketing), and then really get broader and expand from there in 2019,” said Live Nation President Joe Berchtold. “It will be expanding at the NFL level, and then at other specific team levels in other arenas.”
