NBA All-Star Overnight Ratings Steady Despite Olympic Competition

TNT and TBS combined to draw a 5.1 overnight for the NBA All-Star Game last night, and despite head-to-head competition from the Olympics, that figure is flat compared to the game last year. The game, which was the first played under a new format with selected teams vs. conference All-Stars, peaked at a 5.5 rating toward the end of the game from 11:00-11:15pm ET. The ASG delivered Turner Sports a primetime win among all cable networks last night. Two years ago, the ASG drew a 5.4 overnight for the TNT/TBS telecast. Meanwhile, TNT drew a 4.4 overnight for the NBA All-Star Saturday night telecast, marking the second-best figure ever for the network and up 10% from four years ago, when it went up against the Sochi Games. Last year's Saturday night telecast drew a 3.6 overnight, while the event drew a 4.0 in '16.
