Apple is developing Swaggera basketball-themed scripted drama series for television produced by Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant’s Thirty-Five Media and Imagine Television.

The series is inspired by Durant’s youth basketball experiences and explores the world of AAU basketball in the Washington D.C. area where he grew up with a focus on the players, families and coaches.

“I’ve lived and breathed basketball since I was a kid, and the idea for the show draws not just from my knowledge of that world, but the unique personalities involved and the drive that makes young players’ stories so compelling,” Durant said in a statement.

Imagine’s television projects have included “Empire” for the Fox Network and “Arrested Development” for Netflix. Durant and his business partner, Rich Kleiman, are listed as executive producers.

“Thirty Five Media is committed to developing unique content targeted to specific audiences in mind,” Kleiman said in a statement.

Thirty Five Media, the creative development arm for Durant’s business interests owned by Durant and Kleiman, was launched last year and already has a partnership with YouTube as the company looks to work with athletes to launch YouTube channels as Durant has done.
