GET WELL SOON: A Cavaliers spokesperson said that NICK GILBERT, the 21-year-old son of Owner DAN GILBERT, is "scheduled to undergo major brain surgery at a Detroit-area hospital this week." Gilbert's son was "born with neurofibromatosis," which is a "nerve disorder that causes tumors to grow anywhere in the body at any time." Nick Gilbert has "already been through one life-saving brain surgery more than 10 years ago and has been treated by chemotherapy on and off for 15 years" (ESPN.com, 2/11).
NAMES: Former PGA Tour Commissioner TIM FINCHEM said that he is "staying busy" 13 months into retirement. He is "spending more time with his family and working on his golf game," as well as being "more involved" with youth golf program The First Tee.
