Hoop Dreams: "NBA 2K18" Top-Selling Sports Video Game In '17

“NBA 2K18” ended last year as the top-selling sports video game title in the U.S. and No. 2 selling video game overall, according to data from the NPD Group. “NBA 2K18,” featuring Celtics G Kyrie Irving on the primary cover and Shaquille O’Neal on the cover for special editions of the game, has sold about 9 million units, representing the best-selling edition in franchise history. “Madden NFL 18” ranked as the fourth-best game in terms of sales for the year. Overall, $14.6B was spent on video game hardware, software and accessories during ’17, representing an 11% increase from the prior year.
