Former Islanders Owner Howard Milstein and Emigrant Capital have purchased Golf magazine from Meredith Corp., who had just acquired the asset as part of its recent acquisition of Time Inc. The deal will include the magazine and the Golf.com digital properties, and Milstein said in a statement he is looking to “expand the reach and quality of the Golf Magazine and Golf.com brands through key partnerships and the development of new content and services for golfers at every experience level." Financial terms were not disclosed. Milstein has been an active investor in golf assets over the past decade, including club manufacturer Muira Golf and GPS app GolfLogix. He also is co-Chair of Jack Nicklaus’ golf portfolio (Eric Fisher, Staff Writer). In N.Y., Keith Kelly notes the sale price was "estimated" to be around $15M. Editor-in-Chief David DeNunzio and the entire staff are "expected to be retained by the new owners." For Milstein, it is a "return to the media world" (N.Y. POST, 2/8).
