Hearing Against Panthers' Hurney Canceled; NFL Still To Investigate

A court hearing over allegations filed by interim Panthers GM Marty Hurney's ex-wife has "been canceled," but the NFL's investigation "will go on," according to Michael Gordon of the CHARLOTTE OBSERVER. Hurney remains "embroiled in a new legal fight over additional alimony Jeanne Hurney believes she is due since her ex-husband rejoined the team last season" (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 2/8). In Charlotte, Scott Fowler writes, "Just when you thought the Carolina Panthers couldn’t get any weirder. ... How many times have you thought or said something like that in the past two months?" While this is not the "darkest time" in the team's history, this "surely is the weirdest." The Panthers are living in their "own bizarre world that seems to take another twist every day" (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 2/8).
