Buccaneers, Bills Among Teams Raising Season-Ticket Prices For '18

The Buccaneers are "raising prices for new season-ticket holders for the third year in a row" despite a disappointing 5-11 season, according to Greg Auman of the TAMPA BAY TIMES. Season-ticket holders got an email yesterday telling them that they "had until March 15 to renew their tickets for the upcoming season, or they'd be charged the newer, mostly higher prices, in some cases as much as $500 more per ticket." The team had "gone eight years in a row without raising prices" until '16. Lower-level tickets on the home side of Raymond James Stadium are "up about $250 per seat." Lower end-zone seats are "up less, from $800 to $900, but the lower corner sections have among the largest increases, going from $950 to $1,300 per seat" (TAMPABAY.com, 2/6).

COST OF SUCCESS: In Buffalo, Jay Skurski notes the Bills are "increasing prices" for season-ticket holders in '18 after "holding the line" this season. The Bills made the playoffs for the first time since '99, and season-ticket holders in '18 will "see an average increase" of about 3%. The team announced the changes in a letter to ticket holders yesterday. Season tickets "range in price from $330 to $1,080." The Bills will "continue to offer interest-free, extended payment plan options." The Bills "kept costs flat" in '17 after three straight years of increases (BUFFALO NEWS, 2/7).
