Aramark Expects Recent Job Cuts Will Cost Company $30-35M

Aramark in its quarterly report to the SEC said that it expects to record $30-35M of "net severance charges during the quarter ending in March related to job cuts last month," according to Harold Brubaker of the PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER. An Aramark spokesperson said that the cuts "affected two tenths" of 1% of Aramark’s 270,000 employees. The company "did not provide a specific number, but that works out to 540 positions." Included in the cuts were just over 1% of the "positions in the Philadelphia area, where the company employs 6,500." That works out to "about 65 positions." The spokesperson said that the number "included the elimination of open positions and retirements" (PHILLY.com, 2/6).
