Beckham in his lawsuit said that the photo was taken secretly with a telephoto lensGETTY IMAGES

Giants WR ODELL BECKHAM JR. has accused a New Jersey photographer and a California paparazzi photo service with improperly attempting to bill him $40,000 after he "posted on his Instagram account one of the photographer's photos." Beckham in a lawsuit filed in federal court in New Orleans said that the photo was "taken secretly with a telephoto lens." The lawsuit was "filed against Splash News & Picture Agency and photographer MILES DIGGS" and argues the photo "'exploits Beckham's image for personal financial gain' and was 'patently gruesome'" (NOLA.com, 2/3).

ON THE BOOKSHELF: BILL NOWLIN's latest book, "TOM YAWKEY: PATRIARCH OF THE BOSTON RED SOX," is a "454-page effort to fill the gap" on the history of the club's longtime former owner. Nowlin is "confounded by a stark difference of opinions as he combs through the thoughts of people who worked for the man, who knew him or didn’t know him, and the scant printed record of his days and doings" (WSJ.com, 2/2).

THE BRADY WHISPERER: In Sacramento, Joe Davidson profiled NFL agent DON YEE, who reps Patriots QB TOM BRADY and 49ers QB JIMMY GAROPPOLO, among others. Yee and business partner STEPHEN DUBIN in '99 "watched and studied all of Brady’s senior games" at Michigan. At the end of that season, Yee then "wrote a letter to Brady’s father, TOM SR., to introduce himself." Yee and Brady then "met -- and clicked." Meanwhile, Yee's connection with Saints coach SEAN PAYTON "helped him unite with Garoppolo" (SACRAMENTO BEE, 2/4).

However, his "ban from the Garden must continue until August under the terms of his agreement" (NYDAILYNEWS.com, 2/3)....Some Chiefs fans "wanting to say thank you" to QB ALEX SMITH for his five-year tenure with the team have "given $60,000 from 2,900 donations." Many of those donations to the Alex Smith Foundation "were in the amount of $11, which was Smith’s jersey number" before his trade to the Redskins (K.C. STAR, 2/4)....CHARLES BARKLEY will host "SNL" on March 3 (DEADLINE.com, 2/3)....STEPHEN CURRY and his wife, AYESHA "confirmed they are expecting their third child" (NYPOST.com, 2/2)....Baseball HOFer GEORGE BRETT was spotted at the PGA Tour Waste Management Phoenix Open on Saturday (POLITICO.com, 2/4)....Buccaneers QB JAMEIS WINSTON and his longtime girlfriend, BREION ALLEN, revealed they are having a baby boy that is "expected in early July" (TAMPABAY.com, 2/4).
