NFL Media Notes: NFL Net Answers Civil Complaint Over Harassment

SI.com's McCann & Deitsch noted attorneys retained by the NFL Network have "answered a civil complaint" filed by Jami Cantor, the network’s former wardrobe stylist who "asserts that producers and on-air talent sexually harassed and terrorized her." For reasons that are "not entirely clear, the NFL Network has decided to litigate against Cantor rather than reach a settlement." The NFL has "likely had opportunities to offer Cantor settlement terms that might have convinced her not to file a lawsuit and 'name names.'" For NFL Net, the lawsuit itself "is damaging." Even if the league "ultimately prevails in court, damage has been done to the NFL Network’s brand." And it "could get worse" (SI.com, 1/29).

PARTNERING UP: In N.Y., David Waldstein writes the Patriots' weekly video program for their website "can be fascinating, mostly for the insight into the mind" of coach Bill Belichick, but also because he has chosen to share them with color analyst Scott Zolak, a "perpetually gregarious, willfully goofy former backup quarterback." Belichick’s weekly show with Zolak is an "odd pairing." But while Zolak may "sound like an over-the-top homer to a Patriots hater, his commentary is mostly fair and often instructive." That might "explain why Belichick respects and trusts him enough to collaborate" (N.Y. TIMES, 1/30).

FURTHER ACCESS: In Denver, Nicki Jhabvala notes Broncos LB Von Miller will "star in a weekly comedy-variety show, 'Von Miller’s Studio 58,' that will premiere on Facebook Watch on Wednesday" at 6:00pm MT. The show is produced by High Noon Entertainment and is "based out of Miller’s 'Studio 58' man cave in his Colorado home." In each of the eight episodes that will stream live on Facebook each week, Miller will be "joined by his brother Vins ... and teammates as they explore 'new experiences' and 'riffs with celebrities' and 'whatever random thoughts and ideas are running through (Miller’s) mind'" (DENVER POST, 1/30).
