Zygi Wilf Bullish On Vikings' Future, Wants To Host NFL Draft

Wilf said that U.S. Bank Stadium would be a "great place" to host the NFL Draft in the coming yearsGetty Images

Vikings Owner Zygi Wilf is "confident in the direction of the franchise" following the team's loss in the NFC Championship, according to Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE. Wilf: "We’ve been in the business 13 years. We have our ups and downs. Sure, it’s a couple days, but afterwards you look at the future and realize we’re at the top of the game. We’ll be knocking at the door many times." Wilf said the team will “just continue what we’re doing ... with the people we’re doing it with and we’ll get there.” Krammer notes Vikings fans reported a "handful of disturbing incidents" during the NFC Championship game at Lincoln Financial Field. The Vikings have "looked to take action to help fans who reported verbal or physical abuse in Philadelphia." But Wilf said that is "where the Vikings’ involvement will end." Wilf: “I’ll leave it up to Philadelphia. It’s their venue" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 1/30).

LET THE BIDDING BEGIN: Wilf said that he would "like to bid on the NFL holding its draft in Minnesota" at U.S. Bank Stadium or the team's soon-to-be-built HQ. Wilf: “We’re going to be building a new facility, we have a great place to do that, or do it in (U.S. Bank) the stadium. We have a lot of great places to do that, and yes, we’ll do that" (ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 1/30).
