NFL Franchise Notes: Colts Fans Could Receive Refund If Offended By Anthem Protest

In Indianapolis, Mack & Lange in a front-page piece note Indiana state Rep. Milo Smith is "filing legislation that would require" the Colts to "offer fans refunds if Colts players kneel during the national anthem at home games." Smith said that his bill would "allow fans who feel disrespected by the kneeling to ask for a refund during the first quarter." The Colts did not comment on the proposal, which would "not require the Colts to provide refunds if players from the visiting team decided to kneel" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 12/29). Smith's proposal comes two weeks after a Saints season-ticket holder "filed a lawsuit over anthem demonstrations, saying that the actions of players kept him and his family from enjoying the game" (WASHINGTON POST, 12/29).

HOPING FOR A RUN: In Baltimore, Jeff Barker notes the Ravens' late-season turnaround could result in both a postseason berth and an "improved outlook for fans looking to unload" their PSLs. Any postseason success could "elevate the value of the licenses." That would be a "welcome boon to sellers, including some who say they have abandoned the team over player protests." One fan said PSLs currently are "as bad as a penny stock." The Ravens "require fans to acquire the licenses before they may purchase season tickets" (Baltimore SUN, 12/29).
