You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch: Laettner Plays On History With Kentucky In New FanDuel Ad

Former NBAer Christian Laettner leans on his history with Univ. of Kentucky fans in a new ad for FanDuel in which he "plays Santa Claus," according to Colin Warren-Hicks of the Durham HERALD-SUN. The former Duke star is shown "wearing a full Saint Nick getup in front of a line of children." A little boy "wearing a Duke shirt climbs up on Laettner's lap." The boy says, "I want a dog and a bicycle." After confirming that he has been a good boy, Laettner says, "Well, you got it buddy. Merry Christmas." A girl in a UK shirt is next, and not seeing her shirt, Laettner "looks pleased to see the child as he lifts her up onto his lap." He then notices the shirt and says, "What do you want?" The girl replies, "An iPad and a computer." Laettner says, "I don't think it's going to happen this year." He adds, "And by the way ... Santa isn't real." Laettner cast his villainous place in UK lore with his game-winning shot in the '92 NCAA Tournament to send Duke over UK and into the Final Four (Durham HERALD-SUN, 12/20).
