Cowboys Wearing New Navy-White Uniform Combo For Sunday's Game Against Giants

The Cowboys for the first time in team history Sunday will "wear navy jerseys with white pants when they play the Giants at MetLife Stadium," according to Kristi Scales of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. The Cowboys' navy jerseys are "normally worn with silver pants." The decision to wear white pants is "based on a couple of different factors." Several veteran Cowboys players have "lobbied over the years for the navy/white combination because they think it will look good." Dallas Cowboys Merchandising "agrees with the sentiment and knew this Game 14 scenario" with the Giants wearing their all-white Color Rush uniforms "provided a unique opportunity to try the new color combination." Scales notes the Giants' lone Thursday game this season was on Thanksgiving against the Redskins, and that contest was "not designated a Color Rush game." Therefore the Giants "chose their Week 14 home game against the Cowboys" to wear their Color Rush uniforms (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 12/6). The Cowboys "do not have an all-blue Color Rush uniform" (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 12/6).

COUNTRY TIME: In Dallas, Barry Horn notes Cowboys-Giants will be broadcast in Fox' singleheader window and "will be sent" to 66% of the country. The game would "never have gone to such a high percentage of the country" if it was shown in the late afternoon slot, as Eagles-Rams "is going" to 90% of the country as part of Fox' national window. The percentage "would have dropped" had Cowboys-Giants stayed at a 4:25pm ET kickoff "because of the enormity" of the Dallas-Ft. Worth and N.Y. markets as well as their secondary markets like Austin and San Antonio (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 12/7).
