Continued Strong Performances On The Gridiron Help Attract Applicants To TCU

TCU lost the Big 12 Championship game on Saturday, but spending most of the year ranked in the top 10 means the school "scored big anyway," according to Carlos Mendez of the FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM. TCU AD Chris Del Conte said the resulting exposure from the team's performance is “priceless." Del Conte: "I don’t even think you can quantify it. It’s tremendous. ... It’s immeasurable." He added that before TCU’s Rose Bowl championship season in '10, the school "was receiving 6,000 applicants for about 1,600 spots." Del Conte: "Now we’re well over 23,000 for 1,600 spots. There are so many people now talking about TCU." He added that California "makes up the second-largest percentage of students at TCU after Texas, in large part because of the Rose Bowl championship." That is one reason TCU has "scheduled football games" in the state in '20 at Cal and '24 at Stanford (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 12/2).
