The Lions have embedded a series of new interactive wayfinding features for Ford Field into its official mobile app. The new elements, developed by Pittsburgh-based developer YinzCam, make the Lions the first NFL team to use Apple Indoor Positioning. The app will include wayfinding for each level of the stadium, the ability to easily add temporary elements to the maps such as pop-up concession stands and food trucks and an integration with Waze for local real-time traffic. The enhanced app also includes new augmented reality features in which fans can apply virtual face paint or put themselves on a virtual cover of EA Sports' “Madden NFL” video game. The features will debut with Thursday's Vikings-Lions Thanksgiving Day game.
