Grocer Hy-Vee Agrees To Sponsor T'Wolves, Along With Club's G League, WNBA Affiliates

Iowa-based grocery store chain Hy-Vee has "signed a sponsorship agreement" with the T'Wolves that includes its NBA G League affiliate, the Iowa Wolves, as well as WNBA Lynx, according to Kevin Hardy of the DES MOINES REGISTER. The agreement means Hy-Vee's logo will be "plastered on digital signs prior to, during and immediately following the opening tip" at all T'Wolves, Lynx and Wolves regular-season home games.  At Target Center, Hy-Vee will be "featured on exterior signage and branding inside the arena." In Des Moines, G League games will "feature a Hy-Vee logo near mid-court inside Wells Fargo Arena." The grocery chain last year "dropped a longtime sponsorship" of the Royals. But Hy-Vee Senior Communications Manager Tina Potthoff noted that the company has "maintained its sponsorship" of the Chiefs. It also has agreements with the Vikings and Wild. Under its deal with the NBA team, select Hy-Vee stores "will carry" T'Wolves merchandise. T'Wolves and Lynx Exec Chef David Fhima also will "create a digital cookbook with Hy-Vee products and a year-long content series on the teams’ digital, social and in-arena channels." The two organizations will also "team up on local philanthropy initiatives" (DES MOINES REGISTER, 11/16).
