Opening Of Deer Season, Recent On-Field Play Driving Down Packers Ticket Prices

Ticket prices for Sunday's Ravens-Packers game at Lambeau Field "have plummeted," due in part to the Packers' recent on-field struggles and the "opening weekend of Wisconsin's deer season," according to a front-page piece by Richard Ryman of the GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE. Secondary-market ticket prices for the Ravens game are down 35% from two weeks ago after "holding steady most of the year." The lowest average ticket price based on a survey of eight ticket brokers is $74, which is "less than face value for the least expensive seats." Secondary market prices are "mostly a function of supply and demand, and demand is wanting." Including the Oct. 15 game against the Vikings, in which QB Aaron Rodgers was injured, the Packers are 1-3, the only victory being a 23-16 win last weekend over the Bears. Prices for the game against the Steelers in Pittsburgh on Thanksgiving weekend "also are down, but at $115 are the highest of the next four Packers games." Combined with the holiday, the last weekend of hunting season and the Packers' recent play, last-minute Packers-fan purchases "seem unlikely." The one game "holding its value better than the rest" is the Vikings game at Lambeau Field on Dec. 23. Vivid Seats lists its "lowest get-in price at $107 and the median price at $256" (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 11/15).
