FC Cincinnati Selling '18 Season Tickets At Record Pace, Within Reach Of 15,000 Goal

USL club FC Cincinnati has "sold 10,000 season tickets" for its '18 season to date, "double the number of season tickets that were sold at the same time last year," according to Erin Caproni of the CINCINNATI BUSINESS COURIER. The rapid sales are "catapulting the team toward its goal of 15,000" sold for '18, which represents a 33% "increase over last year." FC Cincinnati is aiding season-ticket holders in the "seat improvement process that allows them to upgrade seats or add more seats to their accounts." The club has "set attendance records in both of its first two seasons," and its attendance would have "ranked eighth" among MLS teams for '17 (BIZJOURNALS.com, 11/7).

GETTING THE CALL UP? In Cincinnati, Patrick Brennan writes if "a lot of things go right for FC Cincinnati this December and the club gains an expansion bid" to MLS, the '18 season "could be the club's last" USL campaign. MLS "can't ignore the attendance numbers coming out of Cincinnati -- that's no longer of concern here." What is "left on FC Cincinnati's MLS checklist is the biggest item of all: Stadium financing and final approval of a site" (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 11/8).
