Intel Partners With Turner Sports To Show NBA Coverage In Virtual Reality

Intel has struck a deal with Turner Sports to show NBA coverage including the ’18 All-Star Game in virtual reality. The multiyear partnership involves Intel gaining designation as the exclusive provider of VR for NBA on TNT, and will show other select games on the net in the enhanced format. The Intel-powered VR production will include a variety of camera angles including courtside and elevated views. Intel will have the ability to work with other official NBA broadcast partners to develop 360-degree panoramic video replays. Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal is entirely additive to a separate pact the NBA holds with NextVR to show weekly NBA League Pass games in VR.
