Bubba Watson Ends Multiyear Golf Ball Deal With Volvik After Less Than 12 Months

Golfer Bubba Watson yesterday said that his contract with golf ball manufacturer Volvik "is done," according to Nick Menta of GOLFCHANNEL.com. Watson ahead of the PGA Tour Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas said, "I do not have a ball deal as we sit here today. So I can play with whatever ball I want to." Volvik, which makes balls in various bright colors, announced in January that it had "signed Watson to 'a multi-year deal to play and endorse the company’s line of extreme performance golf balls.'" But the deal "ended up lasting less than 12 months." Watson will "put a Titleist ball back in play this week." Watson had "two top-10 finishes in PGA Tour stroke-play events last season" (GOLFCHANNEL.com, 10/31).
