NBA Roundup: Opening Night Jerseys To Be Auctioned For Hurricane Recovery

The AP reports game-worn jerseys from the four teams playing on the NBA's opening night -- the Cavaliers, Celtics, Warriors and Rockets -- will be "auctioned to raise money for hurricane recovery efforts." The NBA and Turner Sports will "use the auction to benefit the One America Appeal." The auction will include items "such as game-worn sneakers and autographed items donated by Turner commentators." The auction begins tonight and "continues through the first two weeks of the season" (AP, 10/17).

EXPRESS YOURSELF: Columbus-based retailer Express has launched its NBA-themed "Game Changers" campaign centered around Lakers F Brandon Ingram, Bulls G Denzel Valentine, Nuggets G Jamal Murray and Hawks F John Collins. The partnership will feature a series of lifestyle videos focused on each player. The campaign will premiere across Express' digital, social and in-store platforms as well as the NBA's digital and social platforms beginning this month. Express will also serve as an associate partner of the NBA Rising Stars Challenge during All-Star Weekend in L.A. (Express).

MOORES WHERE THAT CAME FROM: Toronto-based men's retailer Moores enters its ninth year in partnership with the National Basketball Coaches Association as the official wardrobe supplier. Moores' Joseph Abboud brand will be dressing 24 NBA head coaches in custom suits for the '17-18 season. Each head coach was fitted at the NBA Coaches Summit in Chicago in September, and they will receive 10 suits and 20 ties this season (Moores).
