MB Financial Bank Gets Naming Rights For Blackhawks' $65M Practice Arena

The Blackhawks’ new $65M practice rink will be dubbed MB Ice Arena after the team "sold exclusive naming rights for the privately funded facility to MB Financial Bank," according to Robert Channick of the CHICAGO TRIBUNE. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. However, sources said that it is a "12-year naming rights deal." MB Exec VP & Head of Consumer Banking Brian Wildman noted that the Chicago-based outfit has been a Blackhawks sponsor for "about seven years." Channick notes the deal will "significantly increase the visibility of the bank’s association with the Blackhawks." Wildman said that it "includes signage on the outside of the practice arena, inside the arena and on the ice itself," adding that a "'huge' MB Ice Arena sign will face both ways" along the highway outside the arena. Blackhawks Chair Rocky Wirtz said that he will be "looking for additional sponsorship opportunities at the arena" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 10/5).
