Coyotes Unveil New Ad Campaign Focusing On Engaging Millennials And Families

The Coyotes this season are debuting a "new ad campaign that puts the focus on fans" with an "explicit effort to engage millennials and families," according to Craig Morgan of ARIZONASPORTS.com. The team is "not employing one specific tagline as they did last season with 'Coyotes 2.0.'" Fans have already seen "One Pack" and "Winter is Coming," but Coyotes President & CEO Steve Patterson said that the team would "eventually settle on something that carries over from year to year." Morgan noted the new campaign will "utilize TV spots, billboards, ads and other mediums." It was created in conjunction with OH Partners, Phoenix, with the "idea of building a special community for hockey fans." Patterson said that the "focus on millennials and families was a logical approach." He added that the family focus will "target moms looking for family entertainment options." Patterson: "If you look at the makeup of the fan base, those are significant parts of it. I don’t know how it works around your house but around mine, mom makes the decisions" (ARIZONASPORTS.com, 10/2).

NICE WHEELS: In Phoenix, Mike Sunnucks noted the Coyotes have "extended their sponsorship deal" with area BMW dealers. The one-year deal "includes naming right to the Coyotes rink-side club at Gila River Arena." It is called the "BMW Lounge" and "features a restaurant and bar and premium ticket holders can watch the Coyotes and visiting teams enter and exit the ice." BMW and the Coyotes are also "introducing a fan contest where each game two fans will take on ice-shots." The winners of each game will "compete on Fan Appreciation Night in April for a Coyotes branded 2017 BMW X1 vehicle" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 10/3).
