Bach Says Ongoing Corruption Scandals At IOC Won't Undercut '28 Games In L.A.

IOC President Thomas Bach yesterday insisted that the '28 L.A. Games "will not be undercut by a series of high profile corruption scandals" involving top IOC members, according to Scott Reid of the ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER. There has been "growing concern in recent weeks and months about how much damage the IOC corruption problems could inflict upon the Olympic movement and brand" by the L.A. Games. There are currently "at least three on-going law enforcement investigations on three continents looking into alleged corruption within the top levels" of the IOC, FIFA and IAAF. Bach: “We have to realize that after having done all these reforms there are some allegations about the past and we will address these allegations, but we also would like to know that so far all these are allegations" (ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER, 9/19).
