Overnight Ratings: Fox Leads All College Football Telecasts With Texas-USC Thriller

Fox led all college football broadcasts on the weekend with a 3.5 overnight rating for USC's double-OT win over Texas on Saturday night. While leading all CFB broadcasts this weekend, the number is down 8% from a 3.8 overnight for the comparable Ohio State-Oklahoma game in '16, which drew a 3.8 overnight. Texas-USC peaked at a 4.8 rating between midnight-12:45am ET. Meanwhile, ABC on Saturday night earned a 3.3 overnight for Clemson's 47-21 blowout of Louisville, up 57% from the comparable 2.1 rating for USC-Stanford in '16. ABC's "Saturday Night Football" is averaging a 5.2 overnight through three weeks, up 43% from the first three weeks in '16. Saturday's telecast also drew 140,000 average streaming viewers, up 337% from last year.

START ME UP: NBCSN yesterday drew a 1.4 overnight for Martin Truex Jr.'s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series win at Chicagoland Speedway, the opener of the series' 10-race Chase for the Cup. Last year's playoff opener, also won by Truex, earned a 1.5 overnight on the cable net.

The chart below lists overnight ratings from weekend sports telecasts on broadcast TV. All Florida metered markets are now included in ratings due to lingering effects from Hurricane Irma.
