Media Notes

In N.Y., Bob Raissman wrote the story of Mike Francesa's future at WFAN-AM has "lingered on for months" and now there is the "mystery of morning drive" following host Craig Carton's arrest last week to go along with it. Raissman: "Believe it or not, all this drama sells." Fans "addicted to these inner workings, who spend time wondering what will happen, will soon not be bailing out" on WFAN. The station is "now not only a place to talk sports, it's a circus, a reality show." If Carton's suspension "lingers on, which it will, the big guessing game in town will be who is going to take his seat" next to Boomer Esiason (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 9/10).

NO EXTRA CHARGE: In Las Vegas, Steve Carp wrote DirecTV customers in Southern Nevada got some "good news, as the company announced that AT&T SportsNet will not require paying extra to receive Golden Knights games." The channel is "part of the provider's regular package" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 9/10).
