In Oklahoma City, Erik Horne noted Thunder F Paul George on Twitter "put out an all-call for fans to send him photos of the best customized versions of his PG1 shoe, and the the American Heart Association may have posted the best." AHA "sent photos of the AHA Red PG1 FAST customs, along with the caption 'Because every 40 seconds someone in the US suffers a stroke.'" George's mother, Paulette, "suffered a stroke when George was 6 years old," and since '15, George has been a "part of a public service campaign for the American Stroke Association which advises how to recognize the signs of a stroke" (OKLAHOMAN, 8/5).

BALL DON'T LIE
: FIVETHIRTYEIGHT's Chris Herring cited data from measurement firm Media Cloud as showing that Lakers G Lonzo Ball has "kept a steady presence in the media" this summer. From May 1-July 30, the "quiet, mild-mannered floor general was mentioned in a whopping 702 mainstream, published news stories." That is "by far the most of any top-five player drafted the last five years." In fact, Ball’s U.S.-mainstream-media mentions "outpaced the combined total" of 76ers G Markelle Fultz' and Celtics F Jayson Tatum’s mentions, who were picked No. 1 and No. 3 overall in this year's NBA Draft, respectively  (FIVETHIRTYEIGHT.com, 8/3).

: Online small business commercial insurance provider Insureon has partnered with U.S. Women's National Ice Hockey Team members Monique and Jocelyne Lamoureux. The agreement marks the latest development in Insureon's five-year sponsorship of USA Hockey and the women's team (Insureon).
