Love Is In The Air: 76ers Unveil New Uniforms Featuring Prominent Red Drop Shadow

The 76ers yesterday unveiled two of the team’s four new Nike uniforms, and they "aren’t much different from the ones the team wore last season, but they now include a hard red drop-shadow behind the 'PHILA' lettering and player numbers," according to Bob Cooney of the PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS (8/2). ESPN.com's Paul Lukas noted the jerseys are "similar to the team's previous designs." The "primary difference" is the red drop shadow "to the chest marks and numbers." In addition, the phrase "Brotherly Love" has been "added toward the jersey hemline." This element will "not be visible during games, however, because NBA players are required to tuck in their jerseys." The 76ers "will have two alternate uniforms, which will be released later in the year." It is "not yet clear whether either of them will resemble the red alternate design that the team has worn in recent years" (ESPN.com, 8/1).

STAY TUNED: The Nuggets yesterday announced a multiyear jersey patch sponsorship with Colorado-based Western Union, and in Denver, Nick Kosmider notes the team will "make another announcement next week as it pertains to new uniforms" (DENVER POST, 8/2).
