Bucks Soliciting Wisconsin Artists To Showcase Local Artwork In New Arena

Bucks President Peter Feigin wants to use artwork from Wisconsin to make the team's new arena "a showpiece," according to Sarah Hauer of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL. Feigin said that the new arena will "display art everywhere from murals along the concourses to paintings in the private clubs and sculptures in the public plaza." Feigin said that the bathrooms will also be "filled with art." In all, the Bucks "plan to install more than 800 artworks around the 30-acre campus." As a part of that effort, the Bucks are working with California-based Sports & The Arts to solicit artists with Wisconsin ties to "showcase about 40 original works." Sports & The Arts recently "curated a collection of art for U.S. Bank Stadium," which "houses a 300-piece art collection." The firm also "helped acquire art for the renovated suite and club levels at Lambeau Field" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 8/1).
