Former Oregon State Deputy AD MARK MASSARI has joined Van Wagner Sports & Entertainment as a VP in the collegiate services division. Massari will oversee the west region, which includes the West Coast Conference property and schools such as Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine, Santa Clara and the Univ. of San Francisco. Massari spent the previous three years at Oregon State and previously served as UC-Santa Barbara AD. On the rights holder side, the West Coast native and former football player at Sacramento State brings four years of experience from Learfield (Michael Smith, Staff Writer).

EXECS: The Hornets promoted Senior Advisor to Basketball Operations BUZZ PETERSON to Assistant GM (Hornets)....The Univ. of Louisiana-Monroe named East Carolina Exec Associate AD NICK FLOYD AD. Floyd previously served as Conference USA Associate Commissioner, and he has a "4-year contract with ULM with a yearly base salary and compensation of $240,000." He takes over for BRIAN WICKSTROM, who left the school June 30 (MYARKLAMISS.com, 6/6)....St. Mary's College of California named Stanislaus State AD MIKE MATOSO to the same position. He begins July 19 (SMC)....San Jose State named Navy Senior Associate AD STEVE O'BRIEN Deputy AD (SFCHRONICLE.com, 7/6)....Saint Joseph's named NBA G League Delaware 87ers coach PHIL MARTELLI JR. Dir of Basketball Operations (PHILLY.com, 7/6)....CSN Chicago promoted National Sales Manager JILL FIELDS to General Sales Manager. She replaces WALTER CADE, who was recently promoted to NBC Sports Regional Networks Senior VP/Sales (CSN Chicago)....Valvoline named Nelson Mullins Sports & Entertainment attorney DWAYNE WATTS Senior Marketing, Sponsorship & IP Counsel. He will be based in Lexington, Ky. (Adam Stern, Staff Writer)....Veteran sports exec LENNY SANTIAGO announced the launch of LMS Marketing & Communications, a bilingual PR and digital marketing agency specializing in the rapidly growing U.S. pro soccer market (LMS).
