Audience Analysis: KPMG Women's PGA Championship Hits All-Time High For NBC

NBC drew 840,000 viewers on Sunday for the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, marking the event’s most-watched final round on record for NBC Sports. The event left longtime partner CBS in ’06 and moved over to Golf Channel before ending up on NBC. This year’s final round, which saw Danielle Kang beat Brooke Henderson by one stroke for her first LPGA victory, was up 1% from 829,000 viewers last year, when Henderson beat Lydia Ko in a playoff from a West Coast course.

KENNY POWERS: Fox drew 781,000 viewers for the final round of the U.S. Senior Open on Sunday, which saw Kenny Perry win by two strokes over Kirk Triplett. Last year's event aired in mid-August, with rain postponing Sunday's final round. This year was down 6% from '15, which was in late June, where Jeff Maggert won by two strokes over Colin Montgomerie. Meanwhile, the final round of the PGA Tour Quicken Loans National on Sunday finished with 1.9 million viewers on CBS for Kyle Stanley's win in a playoff over Charles Howell III. That number is down from 2.7 million viewers last year for Billy Hurley III's win.
