USWNT coach JILL ELLIS "received $90,000 in bonus and incentive compensation" for winning the '15 World Cup, "less than a fifth" of what former USMNT coach JURGEN KLINSMANN collected for guiding his team to the second round a year earlier. After winning the '15 championship, Ellis "signed a new deal" with the USSF, running through the '19 World Cup. Salary and bonus details were not disclosed. Ellis’ previous salary "was $216,407," meaning the $90,000 bonus was 42% of her base earnings. Klinsmann’s base salary in '15-16 "grew to $3,050,000," a 12.7% increase from the previous FY (WASHINGTON POST, 6/15). The USSF "incurred a 'one-time, non-cash accounting charge'" of $6.2M "related to the firing" of Klinsmann and his staff last November (ESPNFC.us, 6/14).
