Garmin Introduces Approach S60 Golf Watch

Garmin introduced the Approach S60, a premium GPS golf watch. Preloaded with 40,000 courses from around the globe, the S60 provides golfers with in-depth information including yardage to greens, hazards, and doglegs.

The S60 features QuickFit watchbands (available in silicone, leather, and stainless steel) and a sunlight readable color touchscreen display.

Through the free Garmin Golf app, users can compete in weekly leaderboards on any golf course.

“The Approach S60 is as functional of a golf watch as it is a stylish timepiece,” Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of global consumer sales, said in a statement. “It’s packed with industry-leading features golfers have come to appreciate and rely on with our Approach series – like advanced AutoShot, SwingTempo, touch targeting and more – yet it’s the most stylish golf watch we’ve offered so it can easily be worn 24/7.”

AutoShot allows players to map and analyze their shots, recording location and distance to a user’s Garmin Connect account. Through SwingTempo and TruSwing, users can work to improve their strokes. The PlaysLike feature warns golfers if a difference in elevation between two points may pose a challenge. For instance, if a golfer is aiming downhill, PlaysLike will signal that the shot plays shorter than one would expect.

The Approach S60 also tracks daily steps, calories burned, distance, and sleep. Users can also receive smart notifications for calls, texts, and e-mails on the watch.

Available in June, the Approach S60 arrives with a suggested retail price of $399.99.
