Franchise Notes

In Las Vegas, Steve Carp notes the Golden Knights' team store at T-Mobile Arena is "on schedule for its opening June 21 to coincide with the NHL Expansion Draft and Awards Show." Golden Knights Senior VP & CMO Nehme Abouzeid added that it is "possible the store, which is 2,662 square feet and will feature the largest selection of apparel, souvenirs and other items in the valley, could open June 20." Meanwhile, the NHL "plans to reveal what the team’s jersey will look like along with the other 30 teams at a special unveiling" on June 20 with Adidas. However, the jersey will "not be in the store." Fans can "pre-order jerseys through the team online or at the store" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 6/7).

BEAUTIFUL DAY: In K.C., Rustin Dodd notes the Royals’ scheduled contest against the White Sox on Sept. 12 at Kauffman Stadium will "likely become a day game to make room for a U2 concert that night next door at Arrowhead Stadium." Talks between Royals and Chiefs officials "will continue" for now. The Royals "would likely see a smaller crowd and less money in concessions and parking." The club is "already scheduled to play a day game against the White Sox" the next afternoon (K.C. STAR, 6/7).

CROSSING THE LINE
: The AP's Anne Peterson reported Orlando City SC is "condemning a social media post that targeted" an MLS referee. The Twitter post "came from an account that purports to belong to the president of the Ruckus supporters' group." The post used the hashtag #UnleashThe Ruckus and "went on to include the referee's business address and phone number." Orlando City fans were "upset about red cards the referee issued" in the team's 0-0 draw with the Fire last weekend (AP, 6/6).
