NFL Owner Notes: Woody Johnson Still Up For Ambassadorship; Strunk Skydives With Army

NFL Jets Owner WOODY JOHNSON remains "on track" to be Ambassador to the U.K., according to Mike Allen of AXIOS. A source said that Johnson's team is in "constant communication with the White House Counsel's Office and the process is full steam ahead, with no problems expected to derail it." Johnson "won't have to sell" his team, but "plans to designate his younger brother, CHRISTOPHER, as principal owner" while he is ambassador (AXIOS.com, 4/25).

HAIL, CAESARS? In N.Y., John Healy cites a Deadspin report that claims Patriots Owner ROBERT KRAFT is "profiting off casino gambling and sports betting and the NFL ... knows all about it and isn't doing a thing to shut it down." The report notes Kraft is a "board member of private-equity firm Apollo Global Management," which in '08 "teamed up with TPG Capital" to buy a controlling 60% stake in Caesars Entertainment. SEC filings show Kraft joined Apollo's BOD in May '14 and is "one of just eight directors of the company" (NYDAILYNEWS.com, 4/24).

TITAN FALL: The AP reported Titans Controlling Owner AMY ADAMS STRUNK yesterday took part in a tandem skydive with the Army's Golden Knights after an "invitation" from Brigadier Gen. SCOTT BROWER of the 101st Airborne Division at nearby Ft. Campbell at the Tennessee-Kentucky border. Strunk "jumped with Sgt. First Class JOE JONES with her family watching" (AP, 4/24).
