ESPN Shakes Up Programming, With New Responsibilities For Ben-Hanan, Derzis, Papa

ESPN’s programming department has undergone a re-organization that sees several execs take on new responsibilities. ESPN VP/College Sports Programming ILAN BEN-HANAN, a '17 SBJ/SBD "Forty Under 40" honoree, will oversee scheduling for ESPN’s linear TV networks, as he is being promoted to VP/Programming & Scheduling. Senior VP/Events PETE DERZIS will head up ESPN's events team, which includes overseeing college-rights acquisitions that had been handled by Ben-Hanan. Derzis will now be Senior VP/College Sports Programming & Events. VP/Programming Content Strategy & Scheduling JOHN PAPA will now oversee tennis, golf, boxing and motorsports as VP/Programming & Acquisitions. Ben-Hanan, Derzis and Papa will report to ESPN Exec VP/Programming & Scheduling BURKE MAGNUS, as will Senior VP/College Networks ROSALYN DURANT, Senior VP/Programming & X Games SCOTT GUGLIELMINO, VP/Programming & Acquisitions JOHN LASKER and VP/League Sports Programming JULIE SOBIESKI.
