Rory McIlroy Signs 10-Year Extension With Nike Worth An Estimated $100M

Golfer Rory McIlroy has signed a 10-year extension with Nike worth an estimated $100M, according to James Corrigan of the London TELEGRAPH. As Nike has "stopped making clubs and balls," it has let McIlroy and his team "negotiate with equipment companies." At the moment, McIlroy is "using Callaway drivers and irons, Titleist wedges and ball and a Scotty Cameron putter." There were "none of the pyrotechnics which greeted McIlroy to the Nike 'family'" in '13 (London TELEGRAPH, 4/3). In Portland, Matthew Kish noted McIlroy has "won 12 tournaments since he signed with Nike," plus a FedExCup title. While it will no longer make equipment, Nike "continues to sell golf footwear and apparel" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 4/3).
