TPG Sports Group Names 10 Sports Technology Companies For Annual ‘Sports Tank’

TPG Sports Group is hosting its third annual Sports Tank competition on April 11 at Katie Murphy Amphitheatre in New York City.

From over 275 applications, TPG narrowed the field to 10 participating sports technology companies that will present at the pitch competition to sports industry executives and investors. Each selected company will present for three minutes and then field questions and negotiate with the panel of investors and professionals for an additional 10 minutes.

Sports Tank will be live streamed starting at 5 p.m. ET. Those who wish to attend in person can purchase tickets here. Below are the 10 participating companies for the annual event.

1) Atleto — Free social sports platform that connects athletes where they can host and join activities.

2) Athletigen — The technology companys main application Iris combines DNA insights and environmental assessments for customized training programs.

3) Firstvision — A wearable body camera for players and referees, enabling media to then incorporate into a live broadcast feed. The content can also be used for replays, highlights and post-game shows.

4) Hookit — Through its proprietary valuation methodology, Hookit quantifies sponsorship ROI from social and digital media as it tracks over 500,000 sports entities.

5) Kymira — Developer of performance and recovery sportswear that is environmentally-friendly.

6) Notch — A hardware and software platform for motion analysis and motion capture for sports and other applications.

7) One Sports — An online and integrated analytics platform that combines both big data and machine learning in health and sports. So far, its technology has been used by more than 50 sports teams and gyms in Brazil along with 1,000-plus athletes.

8) SidelineSwap — Peer-to-peer online marketplace for athletes to buy and sell their gear. Since launching in 2015, more than 100,000 athletes have leveraged Sideline.

9) Teleporter VR — Live event experience company focused around sports events, esports and music through the use of virtual reality, augmented reality and artificial intelligence.

10) YouStake — Marketplace for sports players around skilled games and esports tournaments to raise money in order to compete.
