Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski said he is interested in pursuing a career in entertainment when his football career is over, but he has no plans to retire and he did not sign with United Talent Agency. Gronkowski yesterday spoke to THE DAILY and said, "I took a meeting with them about three weeks ago for a potential transition into movies when I am done playing football. And nothing to do with anything else. It was all about the transition into movies after football. And I have not signed with anyone." There has been speculation in the industry for weeks that UTA had signed Gronkowski after an email dated Feb. 28 with the subject line, "uta client highlight: ROB GRONKOWSKI," was circulating. Yesterday, Henry Penzi, who said he was Gronkowski's manager, told THE DAILY, "Rob has signed with UTA; they are representing him for film, digital, television." But Gronkowski and his father, Gordy, told THE DAILY this was not accurate. The tight end said Penzi was not his manager, but a friend who was assisting him with his interest in entering the movie business in the future. Gronkowski has been represented by WME-IMG for entertainment projects in the past, although he did not sign a contract, his father said. After the Gronkowskis called THE DAILY to set the record straight about his representation, Penzi emailed to apologize for stating that the tight end had signed with UTA.
