Buyers & Sellers: Staples Center Architect Dan Meis Selling Calabasas Home For $2.25M

Sports architect DAN MEIS, who designed Staples Center, is selling his Calabasas, Calif., home for $2.25M. The tree-topped post-and-beam renovated by Meis features nearly 3,000 square feet of open-plan space and includes a "step-down living room, an eat-in kitchen, a library/den, four bedrooms and three bathrooms" (LATIMES.com, 3/15).

ROW THAT BOAT: New Univ. of Minnesota football coach P.J. FLECK recently purchased a newly built house in Edina, Minn. for $3M. The house, which sits on a 0.78-acre lot, features "six bedrooms, six bathrooms" and is a total of 5,949 square feet. A "blending of a traditional European and California styles," the home has "large window panels, white painted interior pillars, an expansive office, a secondary kitchen and bar, a courtyard and an outdoor fireplace" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 3/17). 

BRINGING THE LUMBER: Dodgers 3B JUSTIN TURNER bought a home in Studio City, Calif. for $2.428M. The two-story "features an oversized island in the kitchen, a wine closet beneath the stairs and crisp white wainscoting throughout." The master suite comes with a "fireplace and a private terrace overlooking the front yard" (LATIMES.com, 3/10)....Former MLBer KOSUKE FUKUDOME has sold his condominium in downtown Chicago for $1.5M. The three-bedroom, 2,124-square-foot living space is "on the 30th floor of a Gold Coast tower." The features include "three baths, upgraded Sub-Zero and Bosch appliances, full-size soaking tubs in the bathrooms, and city and lake views." Fukudome paid $1.44M in October '10 for the unit (CHICAGOTRIBUNE.com, 3/10).

CALIFORNIA LOVE: Rams WR ROBERT WOODS last month bought a townhouse in Hollywood for $1.27M. The three-story corner residence, built in '14, features "open-plan living areas, vaulted ceilings and designer Italian wallpaper throughout." The roughly 1,700 square feet of living space includes a "center-island kitchen, a study/office and a living room" (LATIMES.com, 3/10).
