CBS' Colbert Talks Up Tom Brady's New Health Food Meal Subscription Endorsement Deal

Patriots QB Tom Brady's recent endorsement deal with plant-based meal subscription service Purple Carrot drew the attention of CBS' Stephen Colbert, who spent a few minutes during Friday's "Late Show" to address Brady's "notoriously healthy diet." Saying that Purple Carrot is "named after one of the healthiest euphemisms for a penis," Colbert noted the line of meals includes a "ramen bowl with charred broccolini and gingered amaranth, and crispy turnip cakes with quinoa tabbouleh and za’atar yogurt." Colbert said, "By the way, if you're not gingering your amaranth, you're an idiot." He added, "Brady is clearly excited about the partnership. ... Eating like Tom Brady isn't the part of his life that you fantasize about. Please, let me know when there's a subscription service that mails you a supermodel, championship rings and $24 million a year. If not, I might just stick to watching football and drinking my weight to nacho cheese” (“The Late Show,” CBS, 3/11).
