NFL Panthers In No Rush To Replace Former President Morrison; Ticket Prices Staying Flat

The NFL Panthers are "not in a rush" to replace former President Danny Morrison, who "unexpectedly stepped down" last month, according to Katherine Peralta of the CHARLOTTE OBSERVER. The team said that there is "no set date by which to find his successor." Peralta notes the executive standstill comes as free agency "gets underway, and as the team’s stadium undergoes another phase of major renovations." Panthers Dir of Communications Steven Drummond: "There is no timetable, and we’re not in search of a president at this time. We have a veteran executive team in place who have worked together for a number of years and have been given autonomy to do their jobs under (team owner Jerry) Richardson." Drummond cited other executive leaders who have "decades of combined experience with the team," including Exec Dir of Ticketing & Sponsorship Phil Youtsey, Exec Dir of Stadium Operations Scott Paul, Exec Dir of the Owner’s Office Tina Becker and CFO Mike Dudan. Changes in the front office come as Bank of America Stadium "undergoes its fourth year of renovations, which include the addition of a new field drainage system and upgrades to the club and 100-level seating areas." Among the upgrades, the multiple 55-inch TVs at some club-level lounges "will be replaced with a single screen the size of about 15 55-inch TVs." The current phase of renovations "will take about four months," and the stadium "will not be hosting any non-football events, such as soccer matches, during this offseason." The team said that the upgrades are "expected to wrap up in July." Meanwhile, Peralta reports ticket prices "will remain flat" this season (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 3/10).
