Roc Nation Sports' Rich Kleiman Acting As Durant's Manager, Partner In Business Firm

Roc Nation Sports NBA agent Rich Kleiman is now representing Warriors F Kevin Durant solely, while acting as Durant's manager and partner in his business and philanthropy firm, The Durant Company. That firm serves as an umbrella company for Durant's investments, foundation, content-creation and hospitality projects. The role Kleiman is filling is similar to what Maverick Carter does for Cavaliers F LeBron James. Carter serves as CEO of LRMR Management, a company he co-owns with James. Kleiman had been the lead agent for Nuggets F Wilson Chandler, Kings F Willie Cauley-Stein and Celtics G James Young, but they are now being represented by other agents at Roc Nation. Kleiman is still employed by Roc Nation, where he worked as a music manager, before switching over to sports, and the company is actively representing Durant in negotiations for deals. Meanwhile, Roc Nation Sports has hired Mike Rodriguez, a baseball agent who formerly worked for MVP Sports. It is not clear what players, if any, might follow Rodriguez to Roc Nation, but he worked with several minor league clients at L.A.-based MVP, which is owned by prominent MLB agent Danny Lozano. Roc Nation Sports also employs MLB agent Kyle Thousand, who joined Roc Nation Sports from Excel Sports Management in '15.
