Casey Wasserman Hosts High-Dollar Campaign Event For Hillary Clinton

Wasserman Media Group Chair & CEO CASEY WASSERMAN on Thursday hosted a fundraiser for HILLARY CLINTON at his Beverly Hills home, according to Ted Johnson of VARIETY. Wasserman and his wife, LAURA, introduced ELTON JOHN, who "opened by singing 'Your Song.'" Among the 135 people who attended the event were L.A. Mayor ERIC GARCETTI and Legendary Entertainment Founder and Steelers investor THOMAS TULL and his wife, ALBA. Tickets to the event "started at $33,400, and went up to $100,000 to be listed as a co-chair." Wasserman, who introduced Clinton, added that he "wasn't sure how she was able to get up on a debate stage and face" DONALD TRUMP (VARIETY.com, 10/13). Wasserman told the gathering how in August '92, then-Presidential nominee BILL CLINTON "came out to L.A." On that visit, Wasserman's grandfather, MCA's LEW WASSERMAN, "held his second fundraiser for the then Arkansas Governor on the very same property where they are holding" Thursday night's event. Casey Wasserman said, "I certainly hope it brings Secretary Clinton the same luck it brought Bill." He compared the gathering "to the one 24-years ago" and also "took a swipe at Trump." Wasserman: "[Trump] has no idea how a great nation works." Meanwhile, VP JOE BIDEN on Thursday was with Chernin Group Chair & CEO PETER CHERNIN at his home (DEADLINE.com, 10/14).
