Lowe’s And Texas Rangers Form Virtual Reality Partnership

This summer, the Texas Rangers have partnered with Lowe’s to create a new 360-degree Virtual Reality exhibit inside Globe Life Park where fans can use Samsung Gear VR headsets to experience 360° content of a player’s approach to the plate from the dugout.

As of today, fans will have the chance to see the perspective of Elvis Andrus as he prepares for an at bat. From the players’ tunnel to the opposing pitcher’s glare, fans can now experience the same sights and sounds Andrus does each time he approaches home plate. Additionally, the first 12,000 fans entering Globe Life Park when the Rangers take on the Detroit Tigers on Friday, August 12 will receive portable Virtual Reality Viewers courtesy of Lowe’s.

“A baseball player’s approach to home plate, like a fan’s approach to the design of his or her home, is a choice that showcases personal style,” said Shannon Versaggi, Lowe’s Vice President of Planning and Media. “Lowe’s understands this and helps fans bring their homes’ unique personalities to life every day.”

“Together with the Rangers, we’re harnessing fans’ passion and technology to celebrate the places where homeowners live and play, creating personal and memorable moments,” Versaggi said.

Fans not able to make it to the park can watch the 360 VR videos at loweswalkup.com/rangers and on Lowe’s Walk-Up YouTube page.
